ASEAN Research and Training Center for Space Technology and Applications (ARTSA)

Introduction

According to the 23rd ASEAN Sub-committee on Space Technology and Applications meeting or SCOSA-23 Meeting at Naypyidaw city, Myanmar, the sub-committee welcomed the idea of ASEAN regional training center for space technology and applications located at GISTDA’s Space Krenovation Park (SKP), Si Racha district, Chon Buri province, Thailand. The training center will provide both short-term and long-term courses as well as on the job training in space technology and applications for SCOSA country members.

On the 26th meeting of the ASEAN Sub-committee on Space Technology and Applications (SCOSA) at Phuket, SCOSA adopted the draft of the Constitution of ASEAN Research and Training Center for Space Technology and Applications (ARTSA) and endorsed the establishment of ARTSA.

Objective

1. To provide services in education and trainings, knowledge enhancement, and awareness raising

2. To conduct research applications and innovations, and collaborations in area related to Geo-Informatics for ASEAN member states and worldwide.

Goal

ARTSA will provide educational services, knowledge enhancement, awareness raising, and research collaboration in space technology and applications for ASEAN country members and worldwide.
