SCGI activity: The 7th International Online Conference on HealthGIS

25-26 February 2021

SCGI 2nd batch and 3rd batch students had joined the HealthGIS online conference 2021 on 25th-26th February.

Health GIS 2021 is the 7th International Conference of showcasing the geospatial technologies supporting the applications into disease surveillance, reporting, mapping, analyzing and decision making.

Information technology and communications systems such as digital big data, GIS, remote sensing, sensors, digital mapping and analysis of disease related incidences of human and animals can be vital to survival and quality of life. This conference provides a platform to all stake holders to come together amidst the limitations of movements due to coronavirus pandemic and ponder over the issues and solutions related to human health.

Dr. Pakorn Apaphant, Executive Director of Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Thailand is one of the Guest of Honours of this conference and gave the opening address.

Also, congratulations to our SCGI master program students’ research under the guidance of the lecturers which won the best paper award of this conference. The research topic is Visualization Analysis of COVID-19 to Respond to Infectious Disease Outbreaks Using Geoinformatics Techniques in Thailand: Opportunities and Challenges. Dr. Haoran Zhang, Researcher at GISTDA on behalf of SCGI students to give an oral presentation at this conference.

Moreover, the conference article will be published on the International Journal of Geoinformatics (Conference E-Proceedings) with ISBN No: 978-616-90698-5-0.
